Here at Fair Oaks Veterinary Hospital, every pet receives the same specialized care and attention. One of our goals, and one that is very close to our heart, is to help people in our community spay or neuter their pets and help control the pet population. This is just one of Doctor Holland's ways of giving back to the community.
To meet this goal and fulfill our mission, we accept the following low-cost spay and neuter certificates:
- Cobb County Humane Society
- Spay Georgia
The total cost of the spay or neuter surgery depends on what your pet needs, their weight, breed, and other conditions.
What happens during the surgery?
Prior to the spay or neuter surgery, the doctor performs a pre-surgical physical exam to make sure your pet is healthy and there are no underlying conditions that can affect the outcome of the surgery.
We give your pet an injection with pain medication before the surgery begins. During the surgery, we constantly monitor your pet's heart rate, blood oxygen level, and respiratory rate and we continue to monitor them until fully recovered. We make sure they are fully awake and ready to go home by giving them their first meal; a yummy serving of chicken baby food!
Are there a ny requirements to be se en?
We ask that you call and schedule an appointment for any services you may need. For everyone's safety and health, we require all dogs who are coming in for boarding, grooming, surgery, or are being hospitalized to be up to date on their rabies, distemper/parvo (DHAPPCL), and Bordetella vaccines. All cats are required to be up to date on their rabies and distemper (FVRCP) vaccines.
Flea prevention is also required for all pets and flea control will be given on site if any fleas are seen.
